Today I’m going to talk about how to make chocolate chip cookies! First, gather all of your materials. Here is what you will need.
1 cup softened butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons hot water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
MIXING INGREDIENTS
You will need one large bowl. Mix together the softened butter with the white sugar and the brown sugar. Do this until the mixture is creamy. Add in the eggs one at a time, and then add the vanilla. Dissolve the baking soda in the water then add it to the mixture. Mix in the salt. Stir in the flour, chocolate chips, and the nuts. Once the mixture is doughy, it is ready.
BAKING
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Scoop large spoonfuls of dough onto pans (not greased) until you are out of dough. Put them in the oven for about 10 minutes. The edges of the cookies should be golden brown. When they are done, allow them to cool for about 10 minutes. Cover and store them, or serve them right away.
SERVING
There are many things you can do with chocolate chip cookies. You can serve them plain , or you can serve them with milk. You can put ice cream in between 2 cookies, and you can serve them like that. You can cover them in icing. You can dip them in chocolate. You can use m&ms or colorful chocolate chips instead of regular chocolate chips. Instead of scooping spoonfuls onto the pan, you can put all the dough in a smaller pan and make a cookie cake. There are many different ways to serve cookies.
